Hank Porché has somehow infiltrated Julian Snow’s web space here at Warble with a new sinister rag. We’re not sure how it happened as he’s so opposed to technology. Must be old bayou witchcraft. The song is free to download and may cause convulsions.

Salem Weekly’s article about Warble has sparked at least one known letter from the reclusive ragtime pianist Hank C. Porche, who among other things calls warblerecords.com a “fantastical modern appendage” that he will never “acquiesce” to. The Louisiana born centenarian also called for a “(destruction of) the arts.” Although Some reports have stated that Porche’s death occured in 2001, this recent letter should certainly cast doubt on them. Thanks to warble secretary A.A. Quills for transcribing the letter.

D.S.R. Will play a song or two at the KMUZ Summer Kick-off Membership Drive at Venti’s on Monday June 7th w/ Lisa Nunes and other local musicians. They will be playing songs they learned to love from radio. Music from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Artist Renee Paxton added to ‘Friends of Warble.’ Paxton is one of the most experimental artists in the Willamette Valley. Specializing in the avant-garde, she produces music and short films that are wonderfully colored by her quirky humor and her degree in bio-chemistry. She also authored our Warble Family DVD which contains some of her films. Check it!
